Dear Apache OpenOffice Community/Users.

Some of you know me for my work as quality assurance engeneer, others as one of the admin of the Facebook fan page or my videos on Youube. I’ve been working at Apache OpenOffice for 9 years. To avoid rumors, I don’t left because of the Apache OpenOffice Projekt itself. The reason is a sport project. Germanophone viewers can read more about this project on my blog. I don’t know if I will translate some parts of it. I will make a complete cut, sell meny of my PC’s, turn the broadband Internet off, buy a bicycle trailer, and go on tour. So it’s no joke, I will be off here.

I like to thank all the people who was working with me. Thanks for the collaboration, for the teamwork and for the friendship. All the best for the future.

Ein paar worte an die deutschsprachige Community.

Nach 9 Jahren gebe ich bei Apache OpenOffice meinen Rücktritt. Die Gründe liegen nicht im Projekt, sondern privat. Ich werde vieles verändern, über meinen genauen Plan werde ich dämnächst noch schreiben.

Zum Schluss möchte ich noch allen für die tolle Zusammenarbeit in den vergangenen Jahren danken. Es war eben mehr als nur eine online Community. Man hat an einem realen Projekt gearbeitet und viele hat man auch persönlich kennen gelernt. Doch nun gilt es, die Fahne für was anderes hoch zu halten.
